With it’s name taken from a B-class Philip K Dick novel, Zapgun is now a closed chapter of the architectural work of Artur Fernandes and João Diogo from the late 90’s in Porto from when they where still students to the early 2010’s when they decided to embrace other challenges abroad.
Nowadays both João and Artur are pursuing their independent careers in London. João moved to London in 2013 followed by Artur in 2015.
Zapgun has c.20 built project designs and each one an example developed with intense partnership between client / design team and contractor. From the conception to the meticulous detailing and site supervision, each project is unique, drawing on a foundation of rigorous research, implementing innovation whenever possible.
Certain major projects like the mix use / public housing project for Coimbra were developed up to the tender stage when the debt crisis in Portugal put these projects indefinitely on hold.
